The book blurb tells the story a lot better than I ever would...***************************Wow, I loved this book. I believed this one was the best of the series. I loved Shane and Sheriff Brady; both had their issues but I saw how they grew to be the better together. I liked Shane, his obnoxious, his conceited charm, and his lovability. He knows he is a jerk but his so alpha, so likable. However, this comes to a head when a baby is found on his porch as he was leaving to go to the hospital for the birth of a new pack member. Shane thought it was a prank, but he could not believe anyone would leave such a precious gift on his porch. He reached out to Sheriff Brady to help him. Brady was an older omega; with a love- hate relationship with bad boy alpha Shane; writing speeding tickets as fast as Shane can drive; all of course changed, with the baby left on the porch . Each one grew and came into their one with this baby. Brody dealt with his own demons of being abandoned, never having that family or pack to call his own and afraid of loving someone. I will stop here. This series totally rocks to me. Each one can be read by its own but reading them in order really adds to the reading pleasure. I believe Liam is growing by leaps and bounds. I like the way he writes: his sentence structure, his word usage and his imagination in building his mpreg worlds. I would definitely recommend this book to get a sample of his writing as well as having an entertaining read.*********************************I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.I also purchase a copy for I also want to support his endeavors.
Shane was the last alpha standing and a notorious playboy in his pack, which was probably another reason he believed a baby left on his porch was a prank instead of a serious matter. Brady had pulled Shane over repeatedly for speeding and actually seemed to enjoy it. So it was a little surprising when Shane asked specifically for Brady to come help him out of a jam. Once the realization sank in that Blaine was actually in danger Brady and his partner Gage did some investigating to try and keep him safe. Brady and Shane made a cute couple but Brady's tragic past was influencing how he treated Shane in their relationship. It took Shane berating Brady over the huge secret he was keeping from him to realize how wrong he was when it came to that level of danger. Mason was still an absolute cutie who totally threw Shane under the bus.'I received an ARC of this book and voluntarily reviewed it.'
Brady is the sheriff who protects himself by not getting involved with anyone. He was abandoned as a child because he was an omega and grew up in foster care and finds it safer to keep to himself. When Shane, the alpha of the pair, finds a baby on his doorstep and decides to step up to take care of the baby he contacts Brady to help him cut through the red tape so he can keep the child. But caretaking a child is not easy and when Brady offers to help he takes him up on his help. How can this kind of intense experience not work to connect them and they find themselves drawn together and realize that they are mates. But Brady still has hang-ups because of his past. This whole series was wonderful and loving. Showed ups and downs of blending a family together. Hopefully there will be more books in this series.
i read this book as part of an arc program. This is the fifth book in the Howling Hills series. In this book, alpha Shane gets a call from Thorne to go to the hospital because his friend is about to have a baby. When Shane goes to leave his house, he finds a baby boy on his doorstep. Shane thinks it is a joke and calls Thorne, only to realize it is no joke when he finds a note. The note is addressed to Shane and asks him to raise the baby because he is an omega and will be killed by his pack. Shane feels a strong desire to protect the baby, so he calls the Sheriff to come and see what he can do about keeping him. Sheriff Brady is an omega, he is older than Shane and he was abandoned as a baby himself. Brady grew up in different foster homes and doesn't belong to a pack. When Brady sees the baby, he falls in love instantly with him. Brady tells Shane he can adopt the baby he named Blaine by way of the shifter council and he should be able to keep him. Brady offers to help Shane with the baby after work and stops to pick up some baby items Shane will need. they develop a friendship and work together to care for the baby. When the full moon comes, Shane invites Brady to go to the lodge for the run and to help care for the baby. The attraction between Shane and Brady is growing and soon they can't fight it any longer. When they mate, it comes to light they are fated and Shane bits Brady, bonding them, but Brady is scared to move in with Shane. Brady thinks Shane will change his mind and abandon him like everyone else did. Brady also learns there is a pack in town looking for a kidnapped omega baby that belongs to them. Brady knows they are looking for Blaine and vows to protect him. i loved this book. I loved how Brady was older and more mature than his alpha. Shane grew up so fast in this book and took his responsibility to Blaine so seriously. I love how sure Shane was of Brady also. I think they balanced each other out. I really loved this whole series. I can't wait to read more from Liam.
