The second book in The Praegressus Project series was just as exciting and page turning as the first. I devoured it in one day, just like the first. There were a few typos throughout the book, mostly a word missing here and there. Nothing that made the sentences confusing or understandable. There was one in Chapter 7 that made me confused though: “It would bring help, send the helicopter straight to his permission.” I think it’s supposed to be position, not permission. Update: I was told that this typo was found and fixed. :)At the end of the first book, Ashley had been shot, and Sam had sacrificed his freedom to bring her back to the facility in hopes that they could/would help her. When starting this book, I wondered if we would only get the escapees POV for this story (Chris, Liz, Richard, Jasmine, Mira). Chapter 1 instantly let me know that that wasn’t the case. I’m glad the readers get Sam’s POV as well to see what becomes of him and Ashley (although it would have been nice to get more from him. The chapters were kind of short). There’s even POV from those hunting the escapees through the woods, and from Halt. Normally I’m not too excited about chapters being from differing POV, but it worked really well for this story, just like it did for the first. We learn some very interesting information this time around, such as how the Cheads came about, and what Halt’s ultimate goal is. There is more information revealed about the Cheads themselves as well, the information coming from a group of Cheads that help save Chris and the gang from hunters who almost capture them. This information finally answered some questions I had from the first book. Also, Sam and two other “survivors” are revealed to the public at a press conference held by Halt and the President of the Western Allied States. I can’t help but wonder what will happen because of this. What exactly will be the public’s reactions as this moves forward? And then… the end… ugh. Aaron Hodges, how could you?! I won’t say who, but someone dies. Not cool, not cool. I know there will be casualties in situations like this, but I still don’t like it.Now I’m on the edge of my seat, waiting for the next book. I have questions that need answering!I was given an ARC copy of this book for an honest review.

I am somewhat stuck as to what to call these new winged species of humans. Not angels, they are by far too human for that. Valkyries are traditionally women as are the harpies (lol).Easier perhaps to call them Valkyria?Anyhow, these group of seven Valkyria succeeds in escaping that horrible research institute, Chris taking the lead. However, they are still hotly being pursued by soldiers. Then tragedy strikes. This second book in the series is nail-biting in many aspects, not the least of the author's success in raising feelings of revulsion in our own species based on incidents happening on their flight to San Francisco. The twists and surprises lying in store for these kids even managed an old veteran of Sci Fi to raise an inquisitive eyebrow every now and again. A great series with great momentum being maintained all the time. Enjoy!

Everybody that has escaped are on the run. They are hiding from the crazy doctor who created them and his guards. They decide that the answer they need are in San Francisco, home of the Capital. The kids find themselves in an awful situation after Chris tries to save a girl. Mean while with Ashley being shot, Sam is a slave again. Holt uses Ashley to control Sam and forces him to help.Another great story from Aaron Hodges. We have mystery, action filled fights and even a little love thrown in there. A perfect blend for such a tragic story.

This book was just as good as I was expecting. The author builds the characters with depth and strength. The antagonists even have a well rounded profile. Only one has just the one sided look but it is what I expect from evil as deep as this one.The protagonists are a mixed bunch and the difference in them is obvious- just as in your real life. Aaron did a great job with the storyline!

A tale where sticking together is an absolute necessity. The characters play off each other effortlessly. I was not disappointed in book 2. Aaron really has such a talent for bringing this series to life. Talk about holding your breath, sitting spellbound as the scene unfolds.

This second book was as good as the first, although I'm sad at the loss of Richard. I wanted all of the characters to survive. Did get my wish (hopefully) in the death of Dr. Halt. I'm so glad.

I am not happy how this book ended but it as bound to happen. Ok is my favorite of all the players but it looks like The Mad Women my be a close second 😱

This is a great continuation on the first story. The genetic modifications have taken and the character's are learning to handle them. It is a good read and I recommend it.
