This is a special book, very well written and engaging from the beginning. It is a story of love, resilience, and an amazing story of holocaust survival. I recommend it highly. There is something different about this story that goes beyond many holocaust and genocide stories of survival. Each of these survivors moves way beyond the identity of survivor, affirming their lives and the lives of their families. It is also a story of affirming friendship.
The story of these four people, struggling to survive in the face of tremendous danger reminds us of the evil that humankind is capable of inflicting, but also of the sweetness of triumph and defiance. An excellent first work by the author.
